Apply Within Audio is a recording studio located in Lethbridge, AB, Canada owned and operated by Audio Engineer and Harbourside Institute graduate, Greg Lait. The studio is set up for all your audio recording needs and is equipped for live sound productions.Greg Lait has always had a keen interest in music and sound. At the age of 12, Greg began playing the drums with the encouragement of his uncle, Jerry Michalchuk, a touring country musician who recorded his own albums in northern fire-watch towers. Following his uncle’s lead, Greg began recording at the age of 16 in his parents basement.

​In July, 2013, Greg graduated from the Harbourside Institute of Technology in North Vancouver, BC as an audio engineer, specializing in ProTools and live sound. A long time goal of his. While at Harbourside Studios, Greg Lait got the opportunity to record the legendary punk rock musician, Mr. Chi Pig (Kenny Chin) of SNFU fame. Greg has been playing the drums for local Lethbridge bands for over a decade.  2013 marking the 10th anniversary of Lethbridge punk rock staples the Scallywags. The Scallywags have played numerous shows with heavy hitting Canadian punk rock acts such as SNFU, Dayglo Abortions, the Real McKenzies, Bunchofuckingoofs, the Matadors and DOA.



In 2011, Greg Lait joined the progressive thrash metal band Parapsychoticas a replacement drummer. Parapsychotic creates their own sound bybreaking out the metal tradition and playing non-traditional instruments for the genre such as incorporating stand-up bass and slide guitar. Greg is currently in the process of recording their third studio album. This past year, the band played the 2nd annual Loud as Hell festival in Drumheller, AB sharing the stage with Canadian heavy metal band, 3 Inches of Blood. Parapsychoptic also opened for the Koffin Kats at Funky Winkerbeans in Vancouver, BC in 2013.

 

Greg Lait is available for consultation and contracting for personal in-home and commercial studios as he holds a red seal journeyman certificate in Carpentry. A man with a deep appreciation and solid knowledge of music, Greg Lait is not afraid of any genre and is willing to take on any project of any size.
